A Letter about myself and Photography

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Sage. I’m 26, I have a 5-year-old son named Atlas, a fiancé (Carlee), and I’m obsessed with creativity. I’ve had countless hobbies, innumerable projects, and plenty of hours dedicated to all of them. None as much as photography. My personality is lighter than this picture, but I thought the black and white might break up some color and contrast myself against the usual posts.

When it comes to my “style” of photography- I am Ill-defined. My style is you. I am getting to know you pre-shoot, during the shoot and post. My style of editing, shooting, and guiding is all personal. It is defined by the “vibe” we set, the presence you carry and the conversations we have.

I find value in the individual, not in the congruency of my Instagram feed. Plenty of brilliant photographers hold that congruency, and their works are beautiful. But this is me. I’m sure I’ll continue to grow into my “own” with every new experience I am incredibly grateful to have.

*Introduce the cheesy bits*,

Photography isn’t just pressing a button; it isn’t camera specs, iso, shutter speed, aperture, or editing software. It’s the art of encapsulating moments into a still image. Whatever that image may be, I believe it is imbued with the love and craft of both the subject and the artist.

To be fair, I just like creating cool things with cool people. But the above is the meta-philosophy of what photography means to me.

With all that being said, thanks to all the new followers, I hope you enjoy my stuff. Reach out to connect, and if you want to shoot together- fill out the consultation form. Thank you.
